Ballet Shoes
Ballet shoes have certainly gone a long, long way from being a special costume for ballet dancers to an iconic fashion item. Ballet shoes are typically round toed, flexible, and soft which makes it perfect not just for ballerinas who need to be comfortable as they do those complicated pirouettes, but for women on the go. Of course, in order to be able to make that leap from a typical costume to something that can be worn every day, ballet shoes have gone through several upgrades.Through the years the shoes have been styled in so many ways buckled, patent, studded, leather, satin, lace-up etc. to be able to cater to the growing demand for stylish, yet comfortable shoes. Hollywood star, Audrey Hepburn, whose style is much coveted by so many, has made the ballet shoes very popular in the 50s. She paired them with practically anything from shift dresses to cigarette pants. Modern women have certainly followed suit as they also enjoyed pairing the ballet shoes with skinny jeans, summer dresses, and what have you.
